As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts, too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin. ~anonymous

Historical Society Train Show

Our local historical society hosted a train exhibit recently.  The proprietors of the train exhibit are two very special people for sure!
This is Jacob and Jordana with Cindy M (aka Hobo Cindy).  Cindy was our school nurse for years and the kids both really like her.  And she was the instructor for childbirth classes when I was pregnant with Liberty; and was actually working the day Liberty was born.  We've known her for years and just absolutely adore her!

This is one end of the Polar Express Display.  The 10' long train disappears in the 2.5 wide tunnel (the the left center of the pic).  It's pretty amazing!

And this is the other end of the display.  Around the Christmas Tree, there are 350 "people" made out of pipe cleaners.  This is awesome train display!  Engineer Rob is sitting in the background.

This is my stepdad (center in suspenders) with the model of the local railroad that he created and donated to the historical society.  He was on hand that day to answer questions and talk about the local history.

And here are Rob & Cindy M. (Engineer Rob and Hobo Cindy) with their Polar Express train.  All the kids who came to the display just loved it.  Mr. M. was my elementary school gym teacher.  When I was in 5th grade, I broke my foot and was casted for a few months.  He used to lift me on and off the stage in the multi-purpose room so I could watch gym class.  He was one of my favorite teachers!

  1. I bet Noah would love to see those! We have my dad's train set under our tree. Maybe when he's older and knows not to touch, he can see! I wonder if Dave knows Cindy. He keeps talking about someone who has invited us up to see trains.

  2. I'm sure Dave knows Cindy - she was the elementary school nurse in our school district for years. They love to show off their train set up at home. You can see it at www.pinesummitrr.com and you can reach them at moonvette@dishmail.net. They do not live very far from us. Noah would love their trains!
