As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts, too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin. ~anonymous

Christmas Surprise!

The whole gang gathered before dinner.
So . . .  we were talking with Liberty on the phone Christmas morning around 10 a.m.  The boys were telling us about their presents.  And we were talking about when they would come home to visit.  All of a sudden, Tommy says to Liberty, "Do you want to go to her house?"  Liberty says, "Who's house?"  Tommy says, "Your mom's."  Next thing I know, they've decided to drive home and be here in time for our Christmas dinner at 6 p.m.!  This was a wonderful surprise for us!  The last time we were all together for Christmas was in 2007.  They left from here and drove to their new home in Florida.

Grandparents, aunts and uncles were there too!

I feel so blessed that we were all together on Christmas Day this year.  Who knows how often this will  happen as all three of our children build their own lives.  And so I offer this prayer of thanks and appreciation of this special day:

Oh Heavenly Father, we thank Thee for the food on the table, the rooves over our heads, and for our family being here together to celebrate the birth of Jesus.  Help us to remember that family is for growing up in, going away from, and for coming back to.  It is for love and concern, helping each one of us through the happy times and the sad ones.  Even though we may live far apart, with your blessing, Father, we will always be together in our hearts and in our memories, permitting us to lead our own lives and be our own persons.  Amen.
This is Addison playing "Paper Jam" - I had never heard of this before, but basically, the "amps" provide the vocals and will provide the music if you strum the guitar.  It's pretty neat!
Grayson played Paper Jam, too!  He did a great job and even danced a little as he played.

Pap and Uncle Jacob provided the spotlights for the performances!

Tommy is standing behind the rocker, Liberty is sitting in the rocker, Addison is in the fore ground playing with the train, and Grayson is in the background playing Paper Jam.  It was truly a special Christmas!
