As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts, too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin. ~anonymous

Barn Progress

The barn continues to progress. It's getting close to being done. Over the weekend, Jesse worked on the stall fronts. We had gone back and forth with several designs. Finally, Jesse made a trip to our Amish neighbor's new barn and took pictures. We built the gates and fronts very similar to theirs. Best of all, our horses will be able to put their noses out for visitors to scratch. I love to scratch horse noses! My mom and step dad came out for several hours on Sunday to help. And on Monday evening, our good friend, Jim, came and helped spread 18 ton of screenings (very fine stones) in the aisle. Another friend loaned us a machine that compacts the screenings until they are almost like asphalt. We have to put the divider gates between the stalls yet and build the cubbies to store tack and then the barn is done! We have to finish the pasture fence and then the horses can come home!!!
And, speaking of horses: here are pictures of Belle's baby, Hot Dog (the brown one), and Kate's baby, Kater Tot (the gray one). How do you like the names? Hot Dog and Kater Tot! The babies aren't ours and their names are just for fun. They'll go off with their new owners at the end of the summer. But we are going to enjoy them while they're here!
