As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts, too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin. ~anonymous

Huntercrest Farm

This afternoon, we stopped by Jim & Ruth's to pet the horses.  When Kate & Classy were still there, we got to know their horses pretty well.  I don't get to see them very often, but Jesse stops in about once a week.  So today, I tagged along to take some pictures.

This is Jerry . . .  He is a beautiful grey Percheron.  He placed very well in the Halter and Men's Cart Class at the Draft Horse Show in January.

Another pic of Jerry.  He is a very kind horse and loves the treats I keep in my pockets!

This is Jerry with his "girlfriends" - a pair of ponies!  Jerry is a gelding, so they aren't really his girlfriends, but ponies follow him everywhere and he seems to like it!

This is Jim with the newest addition to the stable - Red.  He's a beautiful, up-headed, sorrel Belgian.

This picture really doesn't do him justice.  He has a massive neck and is just stunning to look at.

And this is a comical picture of Red eating some hay.

Quiet Sunday in the Barn

We spent most of the day Sunday in the barn - cleaning stalls and grooming the horses.  Jordana did Mac and I did Orlando while their stalls were being cleaned.  Then, Jordana did Classy while I did Kate, while their stalls were being cleaned.  They are dusty and really need baths when the weather gets warmer.  I think they enjoyed being fussed over - and of course, they got some treats when we were done!

New Wagon!

We drove to Frewsburg, NY, to buy a hitch wagon today!  The Allison Family had listed their wagon for sale on a draft horse web site.  Jesse's been negotiating with them and we came to terms on a price.  It's a beautiful wagon and I'm sure we'll have a great time giving rides with it!
The wagon seat is a little higher than the seat on Jim's white wagon that we've used in the past.  So, this will take a little getting used to.  But the wagon is very impressive to see and I think Kate & Classy will look very nice hitched to it.

The Allison Family farm is called Stoddard Acres . . . So the wagon has a logo that includes "SA."  This will work for us because our little place is called Stoney Acres.  Jesse says this means we were meant to have the wagon!
We are looking forward to giving rides when the weather gets warmer!!!

Bristol's 1st Birthday

Our great-niece, Bristol, is celebrating her first birthday.  The family gathered on Sunday for the party.  It was a wonderful time!
Bristol is the daughter of our nephew Mike and his wife Mandy.

This is our niece, April, with Jordana.  April is a nurse and is getting married in June.

This is our niece, Cristy, with her twin sons, Mason (L) and Dawson (R).  Cristy is a stay at home mom and enjoys playing softball.

From left to right:  great-niece Shayanna, niece Lindsey, great nephew Emmitt (Lindsey's son), niece Amy (Shayanna and Davanee's mom), great-niece Davanee, and Amy's fiance, Jim.

Jesse, Wayne and Sandy stood together during the difficult process of settling the Wagner Estate.  They were great support to one another and we are very close to them.  Starting with Jordana in the front center and going clockwise:  Jordana, me, Doris (Wayne's wife), Sandy, Charlie (Sandy's husband) holding Bristol (their grand-daughter), Wayne, Tyler (Wayne's son), Jacob and Wyatt (Amy's son, hiding behind the man at other table).

Jordana took this picture of me, Doris and Sandy.

Little Visitors from Long Island

Liberty, Tommy and the boys were home this weekend!
This is Grayson wearing Jesse's hat.  Isn't he a cutie!

This is Addison helping Jordana with a DS game.  He is very good with video games!

Grayson and Addison playing tractors.  They had a good time pushing them all over!

And this is a log house that Addison built.  This kid is scary smart!
